At Women’s Climate Centers International (WCCI) – Kenya, we operate as a specialized Research and Learning (L&E) Hub. We disrupt traditional power dynamics by moving beyond "service delivery" to Knowledge Production, positioning grassroots women as the lead investigators of their own ecological and social realities.
While WCCI globally builds climate hubs, the Kenya Chapter ensures that grassroots women are the primary owners and producers of data. By bridging the gap between traditional wisdom and formal science, we ensure that frontline communities drive the policies that affect their lives.
Promoting Women-Led Community Climate Change Solutions & Health Research for Indigenous Knowledge Sharing in Kenya | Supported by: Wellcome Trust
This is the central highlight of the WCCI Kenya Chapter. This initiative utilizes a Citizen Science methodology to recognize, document, and amplify indigenous knowledge in climate and health research.
